How wonderful to be asked to create a piece for Molly’s beautiful Essex cottage. Hoping her throw will warm her heart and home. Follow progress on the blog.
Images will be added to the gallery as our project takes shape.
So far we have tried not to overthink it but have taken the sensible step of growing our finished throw inside our imaginations first so that we can bring it to life and not have any disappointment.
There’s no advertising here. Steps so far:
We set up a WhatsApp group - of course we did!
Created a Pinterest Board (called Molly’s Throw) pulled together colour palettes there to share with Molly along with images of throws and textures. We matched the palette to Molly’s living room paint.
Molly selected a Boho colour palette then we matched that to the Stylecraft double knitting yarns on offer. (I did use chatGPT for that, we are not in the stone age here - but sometimes it is handy if people think we are).
Molly liked a striped throw I designed (designed is a little grandiose as a term, but I did use stash in ‘a whole new way’ to create a camping blanket and then liked it so much I made another one). Have a look at the Project page for those.
Ordered the colours and further parts of the entire Stylecraft sweet shop through Wool Warehouse (just in case)!
The rest of the prep is in the gallery above. Now I really MUST start with the crochet swatches I promised to send Molly to absolutely nail those colours. I will pop them in the post to Molly and update this page as we go.
Agree dimensions - width is most important
